Hello everyone! I’m coming to you today with a (brief!) update about all things Restart Again. It’s been exactly one month since my last gargantuan post, and this one will be remarkably shorter. That being said, there’s plenty to talk about, so let’s get to it!

Firstly, if you don’t follow me on Twitter, you may have missed that the official audiobook production of Restart Again: Volume 4 is now scheduled for release on December 6th, 2022! As with the previous three audiobooks, it will once again be narrated by the fantastic Alex Knox. Based on the sizeable increase in length between Volumes 3 and 4, I imagine this one will run for well over 20 hours of content. Certainly some bang for your Audible Credit (or your money wherever else audiobooks are sold)! As that’s still half a year away at this point, I’ll be sure to make another update post when it actually goes live.

Next, let’s talk about artwork! With Volume 5 still many months away from being finished, I find myself in a relatively unique position of having time to commission artwork solely for my own enjoyment. I have a few pieces currently in process from artists I’ve been eager to work with for a long time. I’m hoping they’ll be finished by the end of next month, at which point they’ll be added to the Artwork tab here on my website. I plan to make a quick post when they’re all finished, but if you’d like to see them as they come out, following me on Twitter is the best place to do so!

There is also artwork in the very early stages of production for the upcoming fifth volume of the series. Despite the fact that I’m not very far into my draft, I have an abundance of ideas that I’m currently trimming down to a more reasonable number of insert pieces. Though I don’t tend to give previews of my officially published pieces until the book’s release date approaches, I’ll leave you with a little hint of what’s the come: After 5 volumes worth of artwork, we’ll finally be getting a cover with our main character as the focus! About time, right?

Speaking of Volume 5, progress continues in the draft as always. If you read the behemoth of a blog post from last month, you’ll know I took a rather substantial break from writing in order to recharge my mental batteries and avoid a more serious case of burnout. I’m happy to report that this was a very successful break! My mind is refreshed and eager to continue the story, and I was able to finally come to a decision on some very important plot points for the volume’s finale. That being said, I’ve been facing a new challenge: actually finding the time to write! To keep a long story short, I was able to do a bulk of the writing for Volume 4 during downtime at my job, and that downtime has now mostly disappeared. In order to bring my word count back to a reasonable daily level, I’ll need to resume my old writing schedule, and it’s taking some adjusting to get back into the swing of things. It’s a work in process, but we’ll get there eventually!

My last update will have to be a bit vague, but I’m too excited not to mention it. Without giving too much away, I’m in the very early stages of working on a Restart Again related project that I’ve been thinking about for a long time. As it’s so early in development, there is the potential that it’ll fall through entirely and not materialize, but I’m hopeful that won’t be the case! As soon as I have more concrete information, I’ll make another post detailing exactly what I’ve been cooking up; alternatively, if the project doesn’t end up taking root, I’ll talk about what it might have been and the roadblocks I encountered along the way. If all goes well, that may be the next blog post here on the website, so stay tuned for that!

I think my metacommentary making updates about future updates has gone on long enough. The future of Restart Again is brighter than ever, and I hope you’ll all stick around to see it with me. Until then, stay safe out there, and as always, thank you for reading!

~Adam

  1. As someone who avoids social media like the plague I really appreciate these blog posts! Can’t wait to hear Alex Knox again – although I love reading books, my life makes audio books a lot easier to consume. Thanks so much for the awesome series!

    1. I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the series! I totally understand avoiding the social media sites; I still need to do my due diligence and spread my presence out to other popular places, but I haven’t found the motivation just yet. The news posts will always live first and foremost right here on my website, so that’s all you’ll ever need if you want to stay up to date!
