I’ve been waiting to type out that title for a long time.

The day has finally come! Preorders for the eBook version of Restart Again Volume 2 have gone live on Amazon as of today, which you can find right here! I’ve never done a prerelease on Amazon before, so I’m pretty excited to see how it goes. Hopefully, I’ve learned from all of the mistakes I made along the way with the Volume 1 release, and have put the pieces in place to make Volume 2 much more successful. I suppose we’ll see!

If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you may be wondering, “Adam, did the artwork you were holding out for finally come through?” Short answer: No! Apart from the (awe inspiring) cover art, there will be no other art included within the pages of Volume 2. My original plan was to include two additional pieces, just like I did with Volume 1, but to do so would mean delaying the book until December, or possibly 2021. I think the story is good enough to stand on its own, and I want to share it with all of you as soon as I can.

But don’t fret! As with the dozen art pieces over on the “Artwork” tab of this website, these two commissions will some day be brought to life and posted in full resolution alongside all of the others. Plus, they’ll be in full color, as opposed to black and white in the paperback, so it’ll really be worth the wait! At the end of the day, it was my poor planning that caused the delay, and I’ll take whatever lumps come my way for not including additional art in the official release. Another lesson I’ve learned in the process of publishing!

A second thing you might notice in Volume 2 is a slightly different interior formatting. Yet another thing I learned from Volume 1’s release was how my digital copy translates to a physical paperback. While I have no issues with how Volume 1 turned out, I think I can make things look a bit better this time around! It might be a bit weird for any of you out there that own a hard copy of the first volume, but going forward, I’ll keep the formatting the same! Pinky promise.

Speaking of physical copies, I plan to have the paperback edition of Volume 2 release on November 1st, just like the eBook. To pull back the veil a small bit, Amazon’s self publishing tools have a very easy system for setting eBooks up for preorder, but I have yet to find that option for paperbacks. I hope it exists, because I’d like to get all of the kinks worked out in the formatting process (it took me two additional weeks after the eBook release of Volume 1 before the paperback was accepted!). I’ll have more updates on that front as we get closer to the release date.

Well, I guess that’s it! As soon as I get this posted and make the announcement on Twitter, I’m off to write the Author Notes for Volume 2. Despite the fact that I finished the first draft in June, it still feels a bit surreal that the release is almost here. I’ll blame that on the incredibly strange year that 2020 has turned out to be.

Until next time, stay safe out there, and as always, thanks for reading!

~Adam

P.S. Of course I’m going to upload the full resolution image from the cover!
